Jurjen will head the Centre, its various innovation labs and underlying portfolio of projects that examine both the future of education and research as well as non-traditional applications of up-and-coming technologies.
Jurjen is - in addition to his interim role at the Centre for Innovation - also active as an angel investor in technology companies. As a member of the venture community in both the Netherlands and Silicon Valley he works on finding, funding and mentoring entrepreneurs to develop innovative and disruptive companies.
Before joining Leiden University, Jurjen was part of the Executive Management team at Fox-IT. In this role he was responsible for strategy, product management, marketing and finance. He began his career in the realm of ICT, working on ERP, e-business and BPO projects before moving into strategy consulting, working for both the public and private sector.
