I am a Dutch/South African International Relations Master Student at Leiden University. I have a background in the history of global institutions, social and economic development and gender and philosophy studies. My interests include travelling and learning languages, including Mandarin.
With the help of the Centre, I am writing my master thesis on the incentives for private actors to participate in data collaboratives to improve humanitarian emergencies efforts. Since private actors have access to valuable data sets, which can transfer knowledge that helps humanitarian emergency relief, it is important to understand the private actors’ incentives to exchange their data with international organisations. This way, the amount of data collaboratives could increase and possibly improve and save lives.
Additionally, I support the CFI’s mission to complement international law, international development, and human rights though technological innovation.
