Network Analytics: Women on Board

Many agree that female presence in corporate boardrooms is well below desired levels. But how did women gain access to the corporate board at all? We used Lynks to visualise how female board participation in the largest Dutch firms developed since the first women entered in the mid-1970s. It shows the emergence of an 'old girls network' over time and how incumbent corporate elites prefer foreign females to Dutch women. Innovatively, this co-creation visualises the main argument from a recently published academic article.
