Our mission is to prepare Leiden University for the digital future by identifying and exploring technological trends in education and research. How do we interact with the increasingly digital reality? What does our changing world mean for learning experiences and in the way we organise work? And to take it even further: how do we develop technology driven solutions to world’s most complex challenges like peace, justice, security and prosperity?
We explore technology from a people’s perspective by starting initiatives relevant to society, developing learning experiences and innovation tools. We connect faculty, students, our partners, the market and society at large. Actively merging different visions, methods and experiences we tackle challenges and come up with new solutions. One of our flagship projects is HumanityX, a new initiative that supports organisations in the peace and justice sector in designing data-driven innovations.
With 25 people working at the Centre for Innovation, we organise ourselves into Labs — groups of people working together on projects. This organisational model creates a flexible environment and culture and leads to constant innovation, unique output, and agility.
The Centre for Innovation is connected to a large network of scientists, public sector, private sector and NGO’s. Many of them solidify their relation to the Centre for Innovation/Leiden University through a fellowship or a Lab partnership. For more information to collaborate with us, please read:
